Loose Parts in the Playscape/Park

Drop-In ǀ Children 0 to 6 years old

Have you noticed that when you give a child a gift, they are more interested in exploring the box and wrapping than in what is inside? That is what loose parts are all about!  Loose parts could be a plastic tube, a cardboard box, sticks or stones. What happens when your child finds these materials outside? Children are naturally curious and when we invite them to explore loose parts in our outdoor space, there is freedom to move and explore.

The possibilities are endless! Come join us for some fun.

Tiny Dancers

Music for you movement for babies!  This dance party gives you the opportunity to connect with other parents/caregivers and build strong bonds with your babies through sound and music. Dancing with your little one is a complete sensory experience, from hearing the music, seeing the smiles to feeling the rhythm, all while being held close. Bring your favourite carrier and your best moves (or any moves).

Not What I Expected is a group for women with post-partum depression and anxiety experiences. Offered to moms with a baby one year or younger.

This program is a partnership of Peterborough Child and Family Centres and the Partners in Pregnancy Clinic.

Not What I Expected

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Have difficulty managing your mood most days
  • Have recurring or unwanted thoughts
  • Are feeling overwhelmed
  • Are lacking support or are feeling unsupported

This group will:

  • Provide opportunities to talk about your experiences with challenges in the postpartum period
  • Discuss coping strategies to help get through difficult days
  • Learn about postpartum mood disorder, self-care, resiliency, and caring for baby during this time
  • Give the space to connect with other moms who are looking to find their way through this difficult time

Registration begins Monday July 29th. At that time, to begin the registration process, please fill out this inquiry form.
